さて自分より明らかにレベルが高い人に会ったときにどんな質問をしていいかわからないときがありますよね（というか馬鹿なことは聞けない、というプレッシャー）・・・。そんなときには、次の質問をよく使います。

○○さんが考えるに、「すごい（その人の専門）と、そうでない人の違い」はなんだと思いますか？

たとえばシェフの方だったら「すごい料理人と、そうでない料理人の違いは何だと思いますか？」だし、大学の教授だったら「すごい研究者と、そうでない研究者の違いは何だと思いますか？」といった感じです。

この質問がいいのは、「その人が目指す姿」と「そこに至るまでの秘訣」が端的に聞き出せる点です。他にも聞くべき質問はたくさんあるでしょうが、個人的にこの質問をしたときが一番話が盛り上がるような気がします。

これによって、その人が一流である（とその人が考える）理由を引き出せるので、あとは「それに至るまでにどんな苦労があったか」「そう思い 至ったのはなぜか」「それを達成している人は他にいますか」などと芋づる式に質問していけばかなり濃密な時間を過ごすことができますよ。
